Phillip + Melissa Wedding {Aristide Wedding Photography}

Congratulations to Phillip and Melissa! I couldn’t help but get a little emotional about this wedding–I’ve known Melissa for more than ten years. Melissa’s sister (Renee) and I were roommates in college (oh no, did I just show my age?) I first met Melissa when I heard how unfair it was the she got a new car and Renee didn’t….and I needed to see this new “so unfair” car. Aaah, such fond memories Melissa has always been a sweet, kind-hearted person (she also laughed at my jokes–definitely a plus). Over the years, I have watched her become such a wonderfully admirable woman who has been incredibly blessed to find an equally admirable gentleman. Their story began years ago when Melissa asked Phillip to prom…that’s right… she asked him. After high school, college sent them separate ways, but they later found each other again and soon fell in love.

Melissa, along with help from her friends and family, have spent months preparing for this big day. It was definitely well worth the effort–huge kudos goes out to Melissa’s mom who put together all the little details that made this wedding so special. The classic palette of cream, black and deep red set the elegant tone for the wedding and the beautiful venue–Aristide Event Center {amazing!}–tied everything together. Melissa, of course, was the stunning center of attention in her gorgeous lace gown with pearl and rhinestone accessories. Phillip easily played the role of leading man, which he has consistently held since the day I met him. The ceremony was lovely and made us laugh and cry, but the créme de la créme was the father daughter dance. Melissa and her dad choreographed a montage of pop songs with “easy moves I know my dad could do.” Soooo hilariously entertaining!
