Bluebonnet Wedding in Hamilton by Hedderly Photography

Yesterday…

She’s just visiting friends in Austin and is curious to see how Texans have a good time. The Broken Spoke provides the perfect setting to do just that. The evening passes quickly with great music and lots of dancing–such a world of difference from what she’s used to in Ohio. He notices her and strikes up a conversation with this intriguing stranger–maybe it’s obvious she’s from out of state, or maybe he sees something more in those brown eyes. The night winds down, and, just out of courtesy, she takes the charming Texan home.

The drive home is a stream of constant questions, and subsequent disbelief after her answers: Have you heard of this band? No?! What about this band? No?! How could she not know of these musicians? He’s now on a mission to educate her in the ways of country music. They arrive at his apartment and he immediately breaks out his guitar and proceeds to serenade her. When it’s finally time for them to part, he sends her home with a handful of music she must familiarize herself with. That night starts it all–despite her having to go back to Ohio, they continue this budding relationship with frequent calls and visits. Jessica finally breaks the distance hurdle and decides to make the move to Texas… the verdict is still out whether her love for Texas or her love for Nathan brought her here.

Today…

Nathan and Jessica’s wedding day. With too many months of a long distance relationship, these two are finally ready to tie the knot in Texas. Planned as a Bluebonnet Wedding in Hamilton, Nathan and Jessica find a rustic barn to say their vows. As a true  Texan musician, Nathan strikes a deal with his buddy, Dale Watson, and has this world famous country star not only perform at the reception, but officiate the wedding as well! Jessica is beautiful in her specially made hi-low lace gown to show off her personalized boots–complete with her initials, wedding date, and intricately embroidered bluebonnets. Nathan has matching (in a manly way) custom-made boots with his initials, date, and blue accents. The flower arrangements are stunning with a multitude of colorful roses. Nathan and Jessica recite their hand-written vows, which bring tears and laughter. The joyful spirit of these two are infectious as they join with their family and friends to dance the night away.

The day of the wedding, Jessica’s grandmother is miles away in Ohio, trying to keep her mind off missing her sweet granddaughter’s wedding. There’s a knock at the door–strangers to grandma, but Jessica’s friends, saying, “You’re going to the wedding!” Shocked, grandma doesn’t know how this is possible–she’s in Ohio and Jessica is in Texas and the ceremony is about to begin! With the help of FaceTime, grandma has a front row seat to her granddaughter’s wedding–and to see her own wedding ring, from decades ago, being placed on Jessica’s fingers as a symbol of the everlasting bond her granddaughter will have with Nathan, makes this a moment one both she and Jessica will never forget.

Hamilton Barn Wedding – Nathan + Jessica

{barn wedding … just a sneak}

The Schoedel Barn  in Hamilton Texas was a perfect fit for Nathan and Jessica–a native Texan guy and a girl who’s more Texan than most of the natives. The bride was stunning in her lace gown, the groom was ready, and their barn wedding was beautiful–officiated by the one and only Dale Watson (you’d be hard-pressed to get more Texan than that)! Nathan and Jessica’s family and friends were so welcoming and fun, even when we had to dodge the rain (it’s good luck to have it rain on your wedding day, right?) and jumped out (literally) with best man and maid of honor, we had a great time. (Is it just me or is Nathan levitating? ) Stay tuned for the full-length blog coming soon!

Elegant Austin Wedding Photographer

The Central Christian Church downtown set the stage for this elegant Austin wedding. Maggie and Chris finally took time off from their hectic DC schedules to tie the knot in central Texas. Maggie and Chris met in law school. Call it intellectual flirting or an ingenious plot–Chris knew exactly how to get this pretty girl to notice him. Maggie’s number one competitor in school was unrelenting in out-shinning her achievements. Maggie knew not whether to hate this guy or fall in love with his charm, brilliance, and albeit, slightly better achievements in class. Love won. A few years later, they truly are happy together (although, there might be a hint of competition between them), and today they share their commitment to each other in front of their family and friends.

With a 20 person bridal party, this wedding is nothing less than grand! The Central Christian Church has this Austin wedding photographer awestruck! The reception is just down the street in the upper ballroom of the Stephen F. Austin Intercontinental Hotel. The cake is gorgeous, the band is amazing (the Newsboyz), and everyone dances like there’s no tomorrow. Congratulations, Chris and Maggie!

When the one whose hand you’re holding
Is the one one who holds your heart
When the one whose eyes you gaze into
Gives your hopes and dreams their start,
When the one you think of first and last
Is the one who holds you tight,
And the things you plan together
Make the whole world seem just right,
When the one whom you believe in
puts their faith and trust in you,
You’ve found the one and only love
You’ll share your whole life through.

Enjoy!

The Central Christian Church is stunning! Just look at my view!

Such happiness!

Who knows the entire choreography to thriller? Ben does.

Beautiful Brady Wedding Photography

A dream for wedding photography–with a location like Selah Springs Ranch, your rustic wedding will definitely be beautiful! What an incredibly lovely outdoor wedding. The addition of the old wooden pews down by the river’s edge–brilliant! Flower petals flanked the pews and friends and family took in the scenic view. Jessie and Dylan made their vows just as the sun was setting. The sun’s warm hue was perfect for the ceremony. Oh, I could have lived in that sunset! … and for a moment, Jessie and Dylan did just that.

The Blessing of Hands

These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and full of love for you, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as you promise to love each other today, tomorrow, and forever. These are the hands that will work alongside yours, as together you build your future. These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, and with the slightest touch, will comfort you like no other. These are the hands that will hold you when fear or grief fills your mind. These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes; tears of sorrow, and tears of joy. These are the hands that will tenderly hold your children. These are the hands that will help you to hold your family as one. These are the hands that will give you strength when you need it. And lastly, these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged, will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch.

Cake Smash! {Temple Baby Photography}

She looked my way and smiled. She’s one year old and has the personality well beyond her year. Her bright blue eyes flitted around the new surroundings as the wind played with her sweet curly hair. Content to be the center of attention, she embraced her audience and played the role of birthday girl with absolute perfection. She danced and squealed with delight as we clapped and cheered her on–until the cake arrived. Silence. It was a splendid cake, (beautifully decorated by Sweet Tr-Eatery) which sadly had no idea of its fate with this one-year-old. Perplexed with the new object, Brynnlee was hesitant to disturb it. Then, Squish! Her foot breaks through the icing… her hand soon follows. What’s this? Flavor? Delight! Oh, happy day! Brynnlee’s first birthday cake is a huge success! Well, it’s more of a cake smash! We were so tickled by her expressions and giggles, as we coaxed her into making a wonderful cake mess! What fun! And when it was over, it was definitely over:-)

Special thanks to the birthday girl, Brynnlee, B’s fabulous mom, the family entourage, and of course, Sweet Tr-Eatery for the icing on the cake… literally;-)
